With over a decade in the financial services industry, in April 2020, Shelley joined the Bay Ridge Private Wealth as the Private Wealth Consultant where she helps the team continue to build upon the foundation of planning the client-centered processes.
Before entering the financial services industry, Shelley graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a degree in Business Administration and worked as a Broker-Dealer Examiner/Auditor for the State Corporation Commission in Richmond. Her rewarding work at the SCC prompted her to continue her education at Washington & Lee University School of Law. In 2004, after completing a federal bankruptcy clerkship with the Honorable Robert G. Mayer in Alexandria, Virginia, she permanently settled in Staunton and entered private practice at Wharton, Aldhizer and Weaver, PLC. She left the practice of law in 2009 and began her financial services career as a financial advisor in Augusta County and Staunton.
Away from the office, Shelley enjoys time with her two sons, Nicholas and Pierce. She stays busy with the boys’ many activities, but it seems lately they can mainly be found at a baseball field or golf course on the weekends.
In addition to helping clients, Shelley is committed to helping her community. She remains an active alumna of Mary Baldwin having served on its Advisory Board of Visitors for six years and serving on its search committee for the College’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement. She completed a six-year term on the Board of Directors for Community Child Care Center, a non-profit, sliding scale childcare center in Staunton, and is active volunteer with both her boys’ schools. She looks forward to working with you and your family.
